Clinical studies

The BriteSmile procedure  has been tested by several independent  scientific organisations. The safety of the procedure is clinically proven. The results of the Study of the effect of  the BriteSmile procedure on the enamel and  composite proves the systém does not cause(softening) any changes on enamel or composite material. The conclusions of  this pre-clinical study has been confirmed by Scanning Electron Microscopy study done by  the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey in compliance with ADA instructions. The conclusion of this study confirms BriteSmile does not cause any structural and morphological changes on enamel therefore we can declare  the procedure is harmless and does not damage the surface of the teeth.

Scientists in New York university checked the data of  SEM and the other pre-clinical sudies focused on hardness of enamel. This confirmed the results achieved by  University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey. The comparison of untreated patients  with  the ones who had undergone the procedure  did not show any changes to the surface structure  and compactness.

BriteSmile specialists together with  the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey made a study to evaluate clinical safety and effectiveness of  the BriteSmile procedure.A group of 50 healthy individuals participated in this multi-purpose study. The results showed all the persons  achieved substiantial improvement in the colour of their teeth, on average about 9 shades. At the same time the study has shown the condition of both hard and soft tissues remained within  limits.

More studies have been carried out in The Forsythe Institute in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the worlds  most prestigious institutions of oral , facial and associated biomedical science. According to the expectations the study concluded that  the application of hydrogen peroxide itself has substantial whitening effects. However the combination of both  (blue light and hydrogen peroxide) had outstanding results, which can not be achieved by using only one of the agents. (either blue light or hydrogen peroxide) This study demonstrates the  synergistic action of blue light together with hydrogen peroxide during the procedure.

All the clinical studies were supervised by Dr. Salim Nathoo PhD. DDS, prosthodontist of  University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey, specialist of Colgate- Palmolive,  and responsible for research in  teethwhitening products.
